The SP begins with 180 horsepower harnessed to a high-performance McCauley propeller with polished chrome spinner. Add in the Lycoming IO-360-L2A and you can ride off into the sunset in even more incredibly moving ways. With a max speed of 126 knots (234 km/hr), a max cruise speed of 124 knots (230 km/hr) and a 730 fpm (223 mpm) rate of climb, the Skyhawk SP serves up more of everything you already loved about the original Skyhawk experience. In other words, this pilot-pleaser climbs faster, cruises at a greater speed and brings new meaning to the term “joyride.”
