Powerplant
Engines enrolled on Honeywell MSP Gold
The aircraft is powered by two AlliedSignal TFE-731-4R-2S turbofan engines installed on the rear fuselage. For the Citation VII installation, the TFE-731 engine has been optimized for high-altitude cruise speed and efficiency through the use of an efficient fan design, directionally solidified cooled turbine blades and a compound nozzle.
The engine is a modular design for ease of maintenance and features a combination digital electronic engine control and hydromechanical fuel control system. The TFE-731 features an automatic engine start system, oil cooler and oil tank. An engine synchronizer system that allows synchronization of fan or turbine speed is provided.
The AlliedSignal TFE-731-4R-2S engines produce a static, sea level ISA takeoff thrust of 4,080 pounds each at 76 degrees Fahrenheit.
The nacelles allow easy access to the engines for maintenance. The nacelle inlet is anti-iced using engine bleed air. A continuous loop fire detection system monitors the nacelle area to detect and warn if a fire occurs. A fire extinguishing system is provided.
Automatic Performance Reserve (APR) provide additional single engine thrust during an engine-out condition on takeoff.
Hydraulically-actuated, target-type reversers, manufactured by The Nordam Group and designed for the Citation VII, are standard.
