2010 Clean Air & Sustainability Award
The City of Wichita and the Metro Air Quality Improvement Task Force named Cessna the winner of a 2010 Clean Air & Sustainability Award for its efforts to improve and preserve air quality in the four-county metro area and for incorporating sustainability measures in company operations. The award was presented during Wichita’s Regional Energy Summit in January 2011.
1st Place in Pro Pilot Corporate Aircraft Product Support Survey
Citation customers voted Cessna’s customer service the best in the industry in the 2010 Professional Pilot magazine annual product support survey.
2010 Arts Council Business Award
The Arts Council for the City of Wichita honored Cessna with the 2010 Business Award for providing broad-based and continued support of the arts.
AIAA Piper General Aviation Award
The Cessna Skycatcher design team won the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Piper General Aviation Award for 2010 "for the development of the Cessna Skycatcher Light Sport Aircraft compliant with ASTM standards."The team will be honored in September at the AIAA Aviation Technology, Integration and Operations (ATIO) Conference awards banquet.
2010 Robb Report Best of the Best
The Citation CJ3 and Citation Sovereign business jets were named in the 2010 Robb Report Best of the Best special issue published each June.
Lindbergh Award
Chairman, President and CEO Jack Pelton received the 2010 Lindbergh Award presented at a ceremony during the Sun ’n Fun Fly-In in Lakeland, Fla., in April 2010. The Lindbergh Award is given annually to individuals whose work over many years has made significant contributions toward Lindbergh’s concept of balancing technology and nature.
Jeppesen Leadership Award
In April 2010, Chairman, President and CEO Jack Pelton received the Elrey Jeppesen Leadership Award in General Aviation for his efforts in communicating the value of the industry. The award was presented at a Centennial (Colo.) Airport Business Aviation event.
National Aviation Hall of Fame
Russ Meyer, former Cessna Aircraft Company chairman and CEO and a leading proponent of general aviation, was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in July 2009. Russ led Cessna from 1975 to 2003.
2009 Robb Report Best of the Best
Cessna was well represented on the 2009 Robb Report Best of the Best. The Citation CJ3 was listed in the business aircraft category, the Citation Mustang in the personal jet category, and CitationAir by Cessna was named for the seventh year in a row in the Flight Services category.
International Business Excellence Award
Cessna received the 2009 International Business Excellence Award from the World Trade Council of Wichita as one of Kansas’ largest exporters.
Aviation Week Laurel
In March 2008, Chairman, President and CEO Jack Pelton was named winner of the 2008 Aviation Week Laurel for Business and General Aviation, among the aerospace industry’s most prestigious awards and presented annually for more than 50 years to recognize professional excellence.
EAA Freedom of Flight Award
Chairman, President and CEO Jack Pelton received the 2008 Freedom of Flight award during the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual week-long gathering –AirVenture – in July 2008. The award is EAA’s highest honor, bestowed annually to an individual whose contributions to aviation closely mirror the integrity, entrepreneurship and innovativeness of EAA members.
Mustang named “Product of the Year”
The Citation Mustang was named “Product of the Year” in 2007 by The Aviation Consumer. This was the first year of deliveries for the aircraft, which was the first new-generation entry level jet to achieve full FAA type certification.
Citation X dubbed “Best Business Jet”
Black Enterprise listed the Citation X as the “Best Business Jet” in its August 2007 cover story, A Guide to the Best of Everything. Since 1970, the magazine has provided business information and advice to professionals, corporate executives, entrepreneurs and decision makers. The monthly publication estimates it has 3.9 million readers.
Cessna takes two top supplier awards
Cessna was named Customer of the Year, and Don Beverlin, vice president of Supply Management, won the Richard Hall Award for Leadership Excellence in Nov. 2007 at the Aerospace & Defense Supply Chain Excellence Awards.
The awards are sponsored by the Supplier Excellence Alliance, an industry partnership of leading aerospace and defense prime contractors, tier-one sub-contractors and suppliers. As Customer of the Year, Cessna was recognized for superior supplier development, supplier retention and its ability to form alliances with suppliers to establish a competitive advantage. In winning the leadership award, Don was cited for his communications skills, ethics and industry leadership.
Ad Astra Award
Jack Pelton, chairman, president and CEO, received the 2007 Ad Astra Award for business and civic excellence from the Kansas Chamber of Commerce.
NBAA Albert Ueltschi Humanitarian Award
Cessna was the first-ever recipient of the National Business Aviation Association Albert Ueltschi Humanitarian Award for its “leadership and spirit of service demonstrated by the Cessna Citation Special Olympics Airlift.” The award was presented in Oct. 2006 at the NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention.
NetJets Annual Performance Award
The Wichita Citation Service Center was recognized as the first-ever recipient of the NetJets Annual Performance Award in 2006 for its cooperative efforts in contributing to NetJets’ overall success.
